First-fix electrics
Where new sockets, data or monitor arms are needed, we coordinate the electrical first fix so cables run behind the joinery, not over it.

Workshop build
Desk, cabinet carcasses, shelving and door fronts built off-site in the workshop.

Install & scribe
Units delivered and scribed to the room, monitors mounted, cable management terminated, drawers and doors adjusted.

Handover
Full working walk-through — you set up the machine, we check everything's exactly where you need it before we sign off and hand over the guarantee.

Full-room fitted offices in a converted bedroom or study, wall-run desks with integrated storage in a landing or box room, garden-room and loft-conversion fit-outs from bare studs, partner desks for two people working in the same room, and library-style fitted offices with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and a ladder.
Materials and finishes
Solid oak or walnut desk tops for hardwood finish, painted MR-MDF or ply for shaker-style cabinetry, leather or linoleum inlaid desk pads for writing and mouse use, brass and bronze ironmongery, and integrated LED task lighting on movement or touch control.

- A single-user fitted desk-and-storage run typically £3,500–£8,500. A full-room fitted office with library and integrated electrics typically £8,000–£20,000+ depending on materials and complexity. Fixed itemised quotations after a site visit.
- How long from order to installation?
- Typically 4–8 weeks from signed quotation to install, with the install itself running 3–10 days depending on scale.
- Can you build a home office into a garden room?
- Yes. We can either fit out an existing garden room or build it from scratch — see our Garden Rooms service — with cabinetry integrated from day one.
- Can you accommodate standing desks?
- Yes — either fixed at standing height or with a sit-stand mechanism integrated into the desk build. We'll advise on the mechanism at the design stage.
- Do you handle the electrics?
- Yes — we coordinate a certified electrician for any new sockets, data or lighting circuits so cabling runs cleanly behind the joinery.
- Can you match the office joinery to the rest of the house?
- Yes — painted finishes are done on site, and profiles are matched to your existing skirting and architrave for continuity.
- Do you cover the whole of Hertfordshire for home offices?
- Yes. Barnett's Bespoke works throughout Hertfordshire, into north London and southern Bedfordshire — including Buntingford, Bishop's Stortford, Stevenage, Hertford, Ware and Hitchin. We're based at Great Hormead Hall, Buntingford, and travel from there.

- How quickly can you start?
- Larger projects are usually booked four to eight weeks ahead. Small joinery jobs and single-day repairs can often be scheduled sooner. Contact us with a rough scope and postcode and we'll come back with a realistic start window.
